Donations and sponsor acknowledgments

Card donations are processed by Stripe through its secure embedded payment form. Stripe receives payment and billing information; ProjectRosary does not store your card number or security code. Sponsor records contain the acknowledgment name, amount, donation date, payment method, and payment reference. Names are published only when the donor opts in, or when an administrator records a name with the donor's permission; otherwise the acknowledgment says Anonymous benefactor. Amounts and dates are public. No tax-deductibility status is claimed.

Sponsor records currently have no automatic deletion schedule. The administrator PIN is validated on the server and is not stored in your browser. Test donations are separate from live donations and are marked in the preview.

Information stored on your device

Via Crucis stores your selected language, font, page color and rosary bead color in your browser's local storage. It also stores a randomly generated visitor identifier to estimate unique visitors. This identifier represents a browser, not a verified person. Clearing storage or using another browser can increase the unique-visitor count.

Visits and countries

The visit counter sends the random visitor identifier to Lovable Cloud. Visit records contain the identifier, visit time and a country code supplied by the hosting network when available. The app does not request your precise location or store your IP address in its visit records. Country identification may be approximate or unavailable. Public counters show aggregated totals and country summaries, not individual visitor identifiers.

Visit records and cached translations currently have no automatic deletion schedule. Hosting, security and service providers may process IP addresses and technical request information to deliver and protect the site under their own policies. The public prayer pages do not require an account.

Translations and service providers

When a non-English language is selected, the app sends the displayed English prayer or interface text and the requested language to an AI translation service through Lovable. Translations are cached in Lovable Cloud for reuse. The translation request is not designed to include your visitor identifier or personal prayer intentions. Google Fonts receives requests when fonts load. External reading and source links lead to websites with their own privacy policies.

Your choices

You can clear this site's stored data through your browser's site-data settings. This removes your saved preferences and browser visitor identifier but does not erase visit records already stored in Lovable Cloud. Blocking local storage may prevent preferences and visitor counting from working. Selecting English avoids new AI translation requests. Do not enter sensitive personal information into this site.

Prayer texts, imagery and AI disclosure

Via Crucis is an independent devotional resource. Traditional prayers, contributed material, adapted texts and original devotional compositions may appear together. Where a prayer has a source or is an original composition, its prayer page identifies that distinction. Existing imported material has not all been independently checked against an official prayerbook. No ecclesiastical approval, imprimatur, endorsement or affiliation is claimed unless explicitly documented.

Religious paintings in this app were created with AI and are devotional artistic interpretations, not historical photographs. Some wording and translations were also produced with AI and may contain errors. Verify prayers and translations with an established Catholic prayerbook, your parish or a qualified speaker before using them for formal worship.

Today's Liturgy

The daily celebration and vestment color come from the General Roman Calendar through the Church Calendar API. Reading references and links come from the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. The page uses your device's current local date after loading. Diocesan calendars, transferred feasts and optional memorials can differ. Data may be temporarily unavailable; the app does not invent replacement readings or feast assignments.

Spiritual and practical limitations

Prayers are offered for personal devotion and do not guarantee a particular outcome, healing, protection or material benefit. The site does not replace the sacraments, pastoral guidance, medical care, mental-health support or professional advice. Devotional promises and private revelations should be understood in accordance with Catholic teaching and appropriate Church guidance.

Copyright and changes

Prayer texts and external resources may have their own copyright terms. A link or source credit does not grant permission to reproduce protected content elsewhere. The site does not claim ownership of contributed or third-party texts. This notice describes the current app and should be updated whenever its data practices or services change.
